The floor itself in the porch is ok, it's just right under the door. the porch is an addition, and there's no concrete under it, just dirt i think. i cleared out alot of the rotten wood, and it seems to go right down to the bottom!. In this project a patio door has a small stair, so i had to slide in laminate wood flooring boards under the drywall. if i didn't a big gap would appeared between baseboards and patio stair.. Attach the cement backer board to the floor, extending it under the door jamb or casing. install the tile on top of the backer board using thin-set adhesive. watch this video to find out more..
