Has anyone had any experience with using the autodesk inventor plug-in for basic hull design? it is supposed to have some useful tools for 3d faces, surfaces, 3d sweep command and other 3d stuff like that.. I was hoping to lure brian away from the beaverstone thread to get some discussion going on methods of modeling boats in autodesk inventor. i love inventor. i teach a cad design class using inventor (high school) and last year we dove into drift boat designs a little bit. we focus mostly on machine. I mainly use surface modeling in autodesk inventor as a start, which gives you a lot more freedom in the design. later on i use autodesk inventor commands like thicken and sculpt to create the final 3d solids. in a previous video i showed the design workflow of a small boat in autodesk inventor..
